About Zenko International

Zenko International is an independent, non-profit organization of Kyudo practice groups founded by Kanjuro Shibata XX. Headquartered in Boulder, Colorado USA, it includes over 25 Kyudo groups in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Zenko International co-sponsors many kyudo programs during the year - from weekend introductory programs to 10 day advanced intensives.

As a part of the Nalanda Gate of Shambhala International many kyudo programs take place at, or in affiliation with, Shambhala Meditation Centers.

Please consult the Dojo Contact & Info page for a list of kyudo group locations, names and information.

For more information about Zenko International in Europe see the Oko Europe website.

The azuchi (sand bank) and matoba (target house) pictured above were constructed in 1989. There are now three "azuchi" within Zenko International in the US.

Seiko Kyudojo at Karme Choling Buddhist Meditation Center in Barnet, Vermont, built one in 1992 and the latest was constructed in 1997 at Fu Rin Ka Zan Kyudojo at Shambhala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. All three were built by volunteers and financed by donations.
